Makeup Wars: My Go-To Eye Look Of the Summer

Product Sent for Review I Bought it Myself

quick and natural eye makeup in under 10 minutes for summerToday for Makeup Wars we’ve decided to show you our go-to eye makeup looks. While I fully admit that I was tempted to go all out and do something fun and color… in actuality, that isn’t what I do most of the summer. The summer is all about spending time outside, running around and having fun with my 2 year old. I need something light and easy, which I can do in just a few minutes so that we an go outside and swing or head to the Zoo. A full face of makeup just looks very overdone and sweaty in that setting. (We were at the zoo on Saturday and 1 mom was super made up, and sweating and it was dripping. That will not be me!)

For some reason in these images my liner shows up a bit more than it does in person, but I aim for a quick and easy neutral eye, light face coverage and long lasting lippies that don’t need to be frequently reapplied.

Read on to see what I used to create my summer eye look. Everything is under 10 minutes!

Quick Mommy Makeup in under 10 minutesTo create my eye look, I first primed my lids (which I forgot to picture), I like to use the NYX potted eye cover since it has enough coverage to cover up my blood vessels. Then I apply Stila Kitten on my entire lid and up slightly over the crease. I used a smaller crease brush to apply a little Wet ‘n Wild Nutty into my crease for a bit of definition and that was it. I used Stila Damsel liner right in my upper lash line, which I then smudged directly into the lash line. In person this was more subtle, and I purposefully avoided the lower lash line (it seems less “done” and better for running around on my swingset). A quick curl of my lashes and I was ready for the new CoverGirl Flamed Out Mascara.

To finish the look, I applied Amazing Cosmetics, AmazingConcealer in Light Golden. This is a perfect match for my skin, so I use a very small amount and apply anywhere I have a little imperfection, mostly under my eyes, the sides of my nose and my chin. A little blush on my cheeks and a bright pink lip stain and I’m ready to go!

Easy summer and hot weather makeup look

That's a really nice lip color on you. I've always been afraid to try new lip colors thinking that it might look too clownish b/c I love a good pop of pink or magenta on people but I don't know if it'll work on me.

Beautiful looks and so appropriate for being a mom. I hate when I see moms looking all dressed up and made up to play at the park or a play area. This is finished and has just enough sparkle!

I own both those shadows, definitely going to try pairing them together now!

Very pretty and simple look. Love it! And can I just say those Nivea lip butters are the best thing EVER? Because they totally are. =)

I love keeping it simple in the summer! But now that it's Fall I like to add a little bit more, since it is not as hot and the colors last longer without all that heat!
