Pregnancy Safe Products from Bio-Oil

Pregnancy Safe Products from Bio-Oil

Pregnancy safe beauty products can be super difficult and confusing. I have an entire guide devoted to what products are safe to use while pregnant including information on what ingredients to avoid while pregnant and a huge list of pregnancy safe skincare products.

Here you’ll find pregnancy safe products from Bio-Oil as of 11/27/2022. If it is not safe, I’ll tell you why. All of the products meet my pregnancy safe criteria. Note I will link to every product directly to avoid confusion. You’ll know exactly which product I mean.

Bio-Oil is the classic case of when I disagree with a brand. I do not know why original Bio-Oil is marketed towards pregnancy, especially as it contains ingredients widely recommended to be avoided during pregnancy. I have gotten comments and messages from readers, upset at me that the brand does this. I have no affiliation with the brand. I have never had contact with them. Please stop being angry with me about this.

Yes, I still answer questions about product safety! You must follow these guidelines. Any rude comments or those not following the guidelines will be removed. This means full product name, ingredient list, and each product must either be on the proper brand page or the brand list page. I won't accept comments in the wrong spot.

You can check the pregnancy beauty FAQ for many answers. Also check out which makeup and hair products I think you should worry about. Additional info about: perfume, nail polish and sunless tanners

This product is fine for pregnancy and nursing

I have info on these situations in this post:
      pregnancy beauty FAQ

Bio-Oil in particular is a blatant example of a brand marketing itself as pregnancy safe when it contains ingredients very well known to not be safe during pregnancy.

Omg THANK YOU for this post! I get so annoyed any time I see women recommending Bio Oil to each other for stretch mark prevention during pregnancy, not to mention the manufacturer marketing this specifically to pregnant women! Like HELLO IT HAS RETINOL. It drives me up the wall. This post is awesome 😀

I read rosemary oil is dangerous during pregnancy, what’s your opinion on it ?

You can pretty much find info out there about avoiding everything possible, much of which isn’t based on much. It’s not considered an ingredient to avoid by the medical community. My list of ingredients that I screen out is very conservative and it’s here: skincare ingredients to avoid during pregnancy

Hi Dr. I see that the new natural one is safe because it doesn’t have retinol? But it does have rosehip oil, isn’t that like a retinol? Double checking that this one is good for pregnacy and nursing… do you recommend any other product above this one for stretch mark prevention? Thank you!
