Should we be concerned about alcohol and other forms of alcohol such as Isostearyl alcohol in the Vital Foundation Stick? (And alcohol in makeups in general)?
I also see Squalane In the ingredients list of this foundation without mentioning the source. If the squalane is not plant-based but from shark liver oil, it will not be pregnant safe, right?

Thank you. I was actually asking about alcohol in my original question. The foundation contains ALCOHOL (and also other forms of alcohol). I did read your list of ingredients to avoid but I’m just trying to get more educated on why alcohol is fine in beauty products but not to avoid as in food and drinks during pregnancy and breastfeeding?
It’s very different between topical use and drinking. The form of alcohol is different first of all, and when you apply topically and pretty much evaporates, it doesn’t really get absorbed into your body. The form that you drink is definitely easily in a measurable level in your blood stream, and we don’t know at what exposure level we need to worry that the baby would develop fetal alcohol syndrome, so we say to avoid. Not all alcohols are alcohol like you’re used to thinking about it in an adult beverage, the chemical structure name refers to something different. It’s an -OH on a chemical structure, not something that will all act the same.
Hello, is it safe to have a beeswax as an ingredient in lipsticks or foundations? Some of WA products have it listed as an ingredient as well as many other brands especially in lipsticks. Just concerned because heard that honey products are unsafe especially during nursing?
I’ve never heard that about beeswax or honey. Children under 1 shouldn’t consume honey due to the risk of botulism.
