I see that you listed the Interfuse Treatment Eye Cream as safe but it contains a neuro calming peptide which I saw that you mentioned in another post that there isn’t enough research on. So I’m just wondering if this product is actually safe or you are labeling it safe because there isn’t enough research on the neuro peptide?
It’s technically safe based on current research, but neuropeptides seem iffy to me since we’re saying they absorb enough to cause effects locally, and how do we know they’re not going systemic and going to baby (they’re definitely going systemic if they’re absorbing deeply enough to cause those local effects). So, technically safe now, it would not surprise me if more evidence comes out at some point to make them considered unsafe.
What about for nursing? Would the neuropeptides be harmful in breastmilk for baby?
We don’t think they get secreted across in breast milk, so should be ok for nursing. But also… likely not super effective in skincare, so if you’re worried I would just skp it.

Thank you for all you do! This is impossible to navigate…I’ve tried consulting 2 dermatologists and two REIs and I get conflicting responses.
I would avoid this one in pregnancy due to the gluconolactone. Ok for nursing.
This discussion isn’t 100% relevant, but is pretty similar to why you’re likely getting conflicting responses: Why does X Brand say this product is safe but you don’t think it is safe? (or Vice Versa)
Note, this isn’t something we have great info on. Some of us in the medical field are more conservative than others (I’m conservative). But…. it’s a neck cream. It’s not something like chemo. There are many other neck creams out there. I would just get a different product. That’s my 2 cents.

I’m ignorant. Why do you always quote “licorice root” as stem cell. Is that the same? Do their products contain stem cells?
I put the “problem” ingredient that put it in that category after each product, there’s a long list of them that are not safe for pregnancy. When something is also not safe for nursing, then I’ll list those ingredients first, followed by the ones that you need to avoid just in pregnancy. You can pretty much find info out there about avoiding everything possible, much of which isn’t based on much. It’s not considered an ingredient to avoid by the medical community. My list of ingredients that I screen out is very conservative and it’s here: skincare ingredients to avoid during pregnancy
Ok, thank you. I purchased it yesterday, but haven’t tried it yet. Pretty much my aesthetician gave me samples of what I can use. It was interfure lines, eyes, which on the list here are listed as safe.
She also gave me Alto defense serum, which is listed to avoid during pregnancy. It’s just she only mentioned to avoid retinol big time, but nothing about licorice root or willow bark.
