Pregnancy Safe Products from Nutrafol

Pregnancy Safe Products from Nutrafol

Pregnancy safe beauty products can be super difficult and confusing. I have an entire guide devoted to what products are safe to use while pregnant including information on what ingredients to avoid while pregnant and a huge list of pregnancy safe skincare products.

Here you’ll find pregnancy safe products from Nutrafol as of 4/14/2023. If it is not safe, I’ll tell you why. All of the products meet my pregnancy safe criteria. Note I will link to every product directly to avoid confusion. You’ll know exactly which product I mean.

Don’t See Your Product? Read This Before You Ask About It…

Please read the Pregnancy Beauty Guide intro first, where you will learn which products you actually need to worry about (spoiler alert, you don’t need to worry about all makeup or hair products). I will not review products that fall into the “don’t worry about it” categories. If you want to ask about a specific product, I require that you follow these guidelines for asking about pregnancy/nursing safety. You can also learn more about how to use these pregnancy safety lists. I will delete questions that don’t follow the guidelines or are rude.

Reminder, I do NOT review supplements. I believe those should be discussed directly with your own physician.

Yes, I still answer questions about product safety! You must follow these guidelines. Any rude comments or those not following the guidelines will be removed. This means full product name, ingredient list, and each product must either be on the proper brand page or the brand list page. I won't accept comments in the wrong spot.

You can check the pregnancy beauty FAQ for many answers. Also check out which makeup and hair products I think you should worry about. Additional info about: perfume, nail polish and sunless tanners

Note, your comment will enter moderation, and will be published after a response has been written. Please allow 24-48 hours for this to occur. Remember, I am an actual person and not a bot. I need to sleep!

Hi there! I’ve read conflicted opinions on use of Ashwagandha containing products during pregnancy (some say its fine and some say it can harm the baby). When looking at the ingredients for the growth activator hair serum I don’t see Ashwagandha written out explicitly but the bottle markets this ingredient. Would you be able to provide some clarity? Appreciate it!

You can pretty much find info out there about avoiding everything possible, much of which isn’t based on much. It’s not considered an ingredient to avoid by the medical community. My list of ingredients that I screen out is very conservative and it’s here: skincare ingredients to avoid during pregnancy
I’m actually in a few doctor groups with the derm who formulated nutrafol, and it’s safety in pregnancy has been discussed in those groups. The evidence against it is pretty flimsy currently and no one is recommending avoidance. If it makes you more comfortable you could avoid it, but currently it isn’t something the medical community recommends.
