Preteens/Teens

This age group can be hard to shop for! Unless you have one of your own, you probably haven’t realized how they have their definite preferences for products and brands. Here’s a look at what my 10 and 13 year old would love to unwrap in their presents!

• Cool blemish treatments: Yes, pimples are a fact of life. And my preteens are in awe of classics like the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion Blemish Spot Treatment. They also love pimple patches like the Peach Slices Acne Spot Dots. I think anything that is a spot treatment without being just a boring gel/cream to rub in is also a big hit.
• Fun Lip Balm: My girls love any lip balms that have a great flavor, a fun container or have characters involved. The Crème Shop Hello Kitty Strawberry Rose Latte Macaron Lip Balm is going in everyone’s stocking this year!
• Makeup Brushes: You can’t go wrong with great brushes, and Morphe makes so great sets! Both the Morphe X Ariel Signature Look 12-Piece Face & Eye Brush Set and Morphe Compose Yourself 6-Piece Makeup Brush & Tool Set are perfect.
• Makeup set: My daughter would be thrilled to get a mini-collection of makeup! I’m creating one now with the L’Oréal Voluminous Lengthening Lash Primer and L’Oréal Voluminous Lash Paradise Volume Mascara. Let’s be honest, Lash Paradise is so great at creating volume that you don’t really need the primer to go with it, but at this age she loves any extra makeup fanciness, and that primer is a great one. I would also include a liquid blush since she’s all about blush but not a powder, so L’Oréal Lumi Le Liquid Blush is my go-to pick. I’m also including a few shades of the L’Oréal True Match Lumi Glotion Natural Glow Enhancer.
• Goofy Face Masks: My girls love a good face mask, especially if it isn’t “boring”. While they like sheet masks (this cool set from I Dew Care has a lot of options and is included in Hello Holidays) , they prefer a mask they can throw on and then still do things in their rooms. I’ve had my eye on this mask: I Dew Care Cookie O’ Glow, which also comes in a hydrating cake version, and a soothing mint chip!

• Travel Makeup Brushes: Travel brushes are something that most people don’t invest in. You just throw your usual brushes into a bag with stuff and go. But having a set dedicated to travel can be so nice! You save space, your usual brushes don’t get lost or ruined while traveling, and it’s nice to have everything in 1 little set. I’m forever forgetting a brush I need. My pick is the Morphe Travel Shaping Essentials Bamboo & Charcoal-Infused Travel Brush Set
• New Perfume: Sometimes a new scent can make you feel like a new person! Yves Saint Laurent Mon Paris Eau de Parfum is a recent find. I love the red berry and white datura flower in this fragrance. There’s a bit of an underlying musk, but it isn’t overwhelming.
• Amazing Candle: I was recently in my local ULTA Beauty, and the staff was unpacking the Better World holiday candles. They come with a little marker, so you can write a message on the candle. But they decided to create a tester, and it smelled amazing! The orange and fir basalm notes mix surprisingly well together, and there’s a bit of warmth in there as well. I bought 2! • Pampering Body Lotion: While most people will invest in face care, when was the last time you looked at the active ingredients on your body lotion? This lightweight (and hydrating) lotion has both Niacinamide and Retinoid to help fight the signs of aging. I’ll be stocking up again during Happy Holidays! Skincare Queen

FYI, so many amazing K-Beauty skincare finds and Dermatologist favorites are included in this sale! We all know the family member with amazing skin who is always trying something new. Well, here are some cult classics and skincare finds that will make you really look like you know your stuff!
• Exfoliating treatment: All skin does need exfoliation, and the Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment might be a splurge, but a tube can last for months. And the glow that you get from it can’t be beat! This product was a top secret Hollywood favorite for years before it became more widely known.
• Face Scrub:  Sometimes you just need a good scrub! I do recommend being a bit careful with physical skin exfoliation, but the PEACH & LILY Glass Skin Face Polisher is hard to mess up. This powder has very fine granules, and you use it dry, mixed with a little water or your favorite face cleanser. (Important note, ULTA Beauty unfortunately changed this product’s status, and it is not included in the sale. But, I still love it and think it’s a great gift for a skincare lover!)
• Ultra Hydration: If your skin is feeling a bit parched, try the super hydration in a snail secretion product like the Peach Slices Snail Rescue Intensive Serum. This serum delivers a big punch of hydration, but doesn’t clog pores. Instead you’ll just wake up looking dewy and glowy.
• Facial Spray: Sometimes you just feel a little… blah. Usually for me that’s sometime in the middle of the afternoon. I love a little mist with a spray like the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater. Just a little mist, and then I might buff my face gently with a makeup brush if I think my makeup needs a little refreshing. But somehow that light misting of the spray really perks me up! It offers a light rose herbal scent as well.
