Today for Makeup Wars we’re sharing our favorite Pantone Purple. I have to admit that I’ve decided to cheat a bit, because I actually find such a bright purple to be a bit difficult to wear as a manicure color. Scotch Thistle is much more subdued.
Ultra Violet is a fun color, but it really only works in nail polish or maybe as an accent eye color. Maybe as an eye liner. But this is really a statement color, and I don’t think it is easy to pull this color off if you’re a mature and responsible adult.
So I thought I would share my favorite purple nail polish for fall, Flora 1761 in Scotch Thistle, a muted dusty purple.
Flora 1761 is a new brand to me. The brand is vegan, cruelty free and made in the USA. It is free of 8 chemicals frequently found in nail polish as well. I found the polish to be well pigmented, 2 coats provided full coverage and applied very easily. I was very impressed with the wear, it easily has lasted 5 days without chips (and 2 of those days I was at work). I used my usual base coat of Orly Bonder and top coat Seche Vite.
What’s your favorite way to incorporate purple into your look this spring?
So excited to see it’s a cruelty free and vegan brand. That dusty mauve is pretty.
Flora 1761 is a new brand to me and Scotch Thistle is a beautiful shade. I’m impressed by the wear time you report, too.
That is such a pretty polish! It is such an infinitely wearable purple!
That’s a nice color for the nails. I am intrigued to try it
The Flora is so pretty! A perfect representation!
