I actually haven’t used La Mer since this review, which was many years ago. Based upon the active ingredients I think La Mer is good for dry skin as it is very hydrating, and there are antioxidants to help prevent aging but I don’t view it as a line that really helps reverse the signs of aging at all. I think the textures are slightly different to the products, but beyond that I don’t see much different in the formulations to recommend one over the other. I’m sorry I couldn’t be more help!

Wow! Happy to finally find a La Mer long term user! Can you specify which serum you are referring to? I just returned the Hydrating Serum- I did not find anything special abt it even had it been a third of the price. I started using the Lifting Serum but the application is cumbersome. I do like the texture of the Oil but not sure of the actual benefits yet.
While I’m at it, I didn’t think anything special abt the Cooling Gel but am considering the others. Is the Soft Moisturzing Cream the same as Cream de la Mer? Sales person recommended the Soft Cream saying it was the same but lighter texture. Your thoughts? THANKS!

Perhaps it is because I lived in warm weather country. So upon reading your review on how to properly use it, I realized I never really rub until it became clear liquid. I use almost a full range of La Mer products and always try its new products. But over time, I zoomed down to three must have 3 basic 1.Creme de la mer moisturizing cream (60ml can last for 8 months), 2. The cleasing oil (200ml a bottle can last for one year, the best cleanser that cleans make-ups as well, leaving face fresh and supple) and the eye balm intense (that’s how I do not have wrinkles around the eyes). If one is willing to invest, use the serum, as it shows the obvious result the next morning. I use it sparingly because it is too expensive lol. When people look at my face and heard how old I am, the next question will follow – what skin care you use? Upon hearing La Mer, their response is “No wonder!”. It is a little pricey no doubt, I never regret using it.

My skin adores the stuff! I have very sensitive skin prone to dermatitis, it gets very dry, red and irritated and CDLM is one of the only things that soothes and calms it. It sinks right in and leaves my skin plump and dewy. Many people would comment on my beautiful skin – but only if they knew the truth! lol – like how red and crazy my skin would be during a dermatitis flare-up. One day a young SA (about 23) said I had beautiful skin and asked what I used – I told her MD Formulations Sensitive Cleanser and CDLM. She then asked how old I was and I replied "37!" – she said "Oh my gosh, I thought you were about 25!" Well that made my day! 🙂 She said her next purchase would be CDLM.

Nivea cream (blue tin) is good but it just does not compare to CDLM. We keep Nivea in the house for dry cracked feet, knees, etc. It is too greasy for the face but not bad on chapped lips.

I have tried many different lines of skin care products, and this product is, without a doubt, the WORST moisturizer I have ever used. It is difficult to put on. It leaves a glossy, greasy sheen that never disappears even after several hours. The only way to get rid of that horrific sheen is to wear face powder, which is not something I want to do every day.

I am not a young woman, so one would think that the product would be absorbed easily into my skin, but it doesn't. It stays on top of my skin like a greasy mess. I SWITCHED to using the Vitamin Enhanced Moisturizer from the Made From Earth skincare line of products. It moisturizes my skin, and it is absorbed easily into my skin – I see a major difference in how healthy my skin looks with the Vitamin Enhanced Moisturizer.

I use German version for warm season. I been using Nivea cream since I was 9 yrs old and my skin looks AH-AMAZING for a 40 yr old. Thank you mom for making me put Nivea. I look like a young Salma Hayek. I have no wrinkles. I'm all natural. Thanks Nivea, baby! =)

Yes, it's incredibly expensive but it lasts a long time and it's worth it. When a 20-something tells you you can pass for mid-30s (not that I want to) then you're on to something. I will NEVER stop using it.
