Okay, thanks! Just out of curiosity, why is this safe even though it describes having flower acids and kiwi AHA? I thought that AHA was to be avoided.

Hello!

I see that the Seaglow Resurfacing Scrub is on the safe list for pregnant and nursing. On the product page they say it is formulated with:

Flower Acids
Chemical exfoliant resurfaces to improve skin radiance.

Kiwi AHA Infused Rice Microparticles
A dual-action, physical and chemical exfoliant that leaves skin feeling smooth and refreshed.

The actual ingredient list says:

Ingredients
Water / Aqua / Eau, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Volcanic Sand, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Powder, Coco-Glucoside , Bentonite, Glycerin, Coco-Betaine, Coconut Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, Rubus Chamaemorus Seed Oil, Sea Silt, Capryloyl Glycerin/Sebacic Acid Copolymer, Propanediol, Caffeine, Hibiscus Sabdariffa Flower Extract, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Ocimum Basilicum (Basil) Oil, Jasminum

I wanted to double check this is safe due to the acids listed.

Thanks!
Heather

You can pretty much find info out there about avoiding everything possible, much of which isn’t based on much. Topical Rosemary is not considered an ingredient to avoid by the medical community. My list of ingredients that I screen out is very conservative and it’s here: skincare ingredients to avoid during pregnancy
Rosemary is something you can still eat, which is a much higher level of exposure.

I noticed that the Osea Undaria Algae Body Oil is marked as safe, but it has Rosemary extract. Are the amounts so trace that it is negligible?

Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Undaria Pinnatifida Powder, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Peel Oil, Tocopherol, Lupinus Albus Seed Extract, Passiflora Edulis Seed Oil, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Oil, Euterpe Oleracea Fruit Oil, Orbignya Oleifera Seed Oil, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil, Linum Usitatissimum (Linseed) Seed Oil, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Extract, Citrus Latifolia Peel Oil, Cupressus Sempervirens Branch/Leaf

Thank you!

They word it as a bio-alternative to retinol, and it’s from Algae. Which doesn’t act via the same mechanism and also is NOT a retinoid chemical. When you look at the actual ingredient list, there’s not retinoid. That’s why it’s safe, they’re overstating things, it’s not a retinoid.

Hi,

I do see that the Collagen Dream Night Cream is pregnancy safe, just wondering if it has retinol in it how is it safe. I see on the website it is derived from another source. I appreciate your feedback. Thank you.
