It only washes out in the pool, and then the pool’s filters have to deal with it. It really does take a toll on the filtering system.
I lane swim, and I always wet my hair before swimming and wear a swim cap. My fave product to use after swimming is Ion Swimmers Leave In Conditioner. That stuff is so great, I’d use it even without swimming, it’s awesome. P.S. Also the BEST detangler! I didn’t know it was the metals that cause the green tinge, not chlorine! Interesting, thanks! 🙂
