Benzoyl Peroxide is usually used in skin care products meant to treat acne, learn more about how benzoyl peroxide works in skin care. It is typically used in a treatment product such as an all over gel or at a higher concentration in a spot treatment. It can also be found in cleansers.
For the typical acne treatment, I recommend trying a Salicylic Acid face wash and then following up with an all over Benzoyl Peroxide treatment daily. As needed use a stronger spot treatment just on blemishes. There are some people that respond better to a Benzoyl Peroxide cleanser, then Salicylic Acid treatments, it’s a matter or trial and error to figure out what works best for you. I’ll be discussing how Salicylic Acid works and giving product options for that ingredient next week.
