I’ve posted quite a bit on the blog about my love of all the Burt’s Bees lippies. I’ve gotten all of my friends obsessed, just this morning (well, yesterday now, this was on Tuesday) at work there was an extended debate between 2 of my nurses about whether the Lip Crayon or Tinted Balm was better. Yes, my work here is done. And in case you’re wondering, I’m of the opinion that there is no real correct answer there, I like both. The answer is both.
A few months ago, I found out that Burt’s Bees was going to be releasing a traditional lipstick. YES! More Burt’s Bees Lippies! And I have to admit that the first day I saw them in person (which was the day before they all arrived at my doorstep), I spent a good 10 minutes checking out the colors and playing with the testers.
I love these lipsticks, and my friends have been seeking them out in stores because I’m talking about them so much. They come in a very substantial plastic tube, I love the honeycomb detailing on the outside of the case!
The lipsticks are all well pigmented and very smooth, they do feel hydrating. Because my lips are somewhat on the thin side (ok, they’re very thin), I try to always use hydrating lipsticks that aren’t matte. These lipsticks have a satin finish, which I love.
There are 14 shades in all, which means that there is definitely one that works for pretty much any occasion. While there are a lot of great shades, there are 3 that I’ve been reaching for most often! These three work pretty much no matter what. A great pink-nude tone, a bright pink and a red. They work for running errands, out to dinner and going to work. Which color is your go-to?
Check out all of the Burt’s Bees Lipsticks!
Hello 🙂 question for you!
Since Burt’s bees has beeswax, for nursing in particular and kissing your baby on the cheek for example, is there a risk of boutilism – like the one you get from honey? This may sound like a ridiculous question, but I’ve wondered. Wondering if Burt’s bees is a good option for a lip cosmetic for pregnant and nursing women? Trying to find a good lip option.
There isn’t. The problem isn’t the honey, but the spores that breed in the honey itself. The way the wax is processed it should be fine.
Hi there!
Are the Burt’s Bees lipsticks safe to use during pregnancy? I’ve read mixed reviews about heavy metals present in Burt’s Bees lipsticks.
I’m looking for an affordable, pregnancy friendly lipstick. Any recommendations?
Thanks!
There are so many and they all have different ingredients lists even for each color, I honestly haven’t had time to go through them, I’ve been so busy at my regular job. Which ones were you interested in?
