Must Have Favorite Travel Beauty Products

Favorite travel beauty products

I love to travel, but you can imagine that as a beauty addict (I definitely qualify as one) I am super high maintenance when it comes to packing my beauty products. I’ve previously shared all of the stuff I bring with me when I travel, and I admit that I try to pare it down more and more each time. I have varying degrees of success at this!

A lot of the actual products that I bring with me rotate in and out, but there are a few products that have consistently been my travel companions for years! I thought that I would share some of them today.

Facial Oil

When I get on a plane, I swear all of the moisture is sucked out of my skin. From my face to my cuticles, suddenly I am dry, dry, dry. It can take me days to recover with a regular moisturizer, but if I apply a great facial oil and then seal it in with my moisturizer, I’m back to normal in no time!

My favorite facial oil is Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery (read my review here, you can buy it from Kiehl’s, Nordstrom or Sephora). It makes my skin very glowy with just a few drops!

If I don’t happen to have a smaller sample/travel size of Midnight Recovery, I’ve found that Bobbi Brown Extra Face Oil (buy it at Sephora or Bobbi Brown) is a slightly heavier substitute, and I get sample sizes of that oil quite frequently when I place a Bobbi Brown order. A great lower priced alternative is this L’Oreal Age Perfect Cell Renewal Facial Oil (buy it from Amazon).

Note, if you don’t have a small size available in an oil I would decant into something like this.

Eye Makeup Remover

I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve travelled and thought “oh, I don’t need eye makeup remover, I can just bring my face wash.” Big Mistake. Every singe time I regret it, I end up scrubbing my eye lids like crazy with a wash cloth to get residual eye liner off. I’ve tried out a lot of eye makeup removers, but I always bring my favorite Lancome Bi-Facil with me when I travel, it removes everything!! You can read my original review here, and to get a smaller travel size I will purchase a set like these with a small eye makeup remover and usually a mascara and eyeliner to try out.

Dry Shampoo

I usually wash my hair every other day at home, any more frequent than that and I get eczema flares on my scalp. Which is awesome. Anyway, being out of town with little kiddos means I have even less time for myself than usual, so I usually only wash my hair every third day instead (don’t worry, I still shower the rest of my body!) I bring a travel size version of either R+Co Death Valley or Oribe Gold Dust Dry Shampoo.

If it’s been a while since I had my color done, I’ve also been loving Gray Away, I like to have the powder rather than the spray for travel.

What wonderful picks, and I think that Midnight Recovery is a wonderful oil. I have really had to try to streamline what I take when I travel, and deluxe travel sizes for skin and hair care has really helped cut down on the clutter!

You reminded me that I need to take my Grey Away on my long trip. I used to take Almay eye makeup remover pads but I find them too rough for my face now. Luckily I have a small Mary Kay remover to take.
