If you’re a fan of Perricone MD, then get ready to stock up! All Perricone cleansers are 50% off at ULTA on Saturday 1/9, and you’ll want to stock up on them. These cleansers are definitely a splurge item, but they’re so amazing that they have become cult favorites!
There’s are a few good reasons that these cleansers are so beloved. All three cleansers do a great job of removing everything from your face. Every last bit of waterproof concealer. It does not stand a chance against these cleansers. And they work without over drying your skin or causing irritation. They also have added ingredients to do things like help fight aging. And let’s face it, many of us want all of the help that we can get!
The first thing you should notice about all of these cleansers is that they come in heavy glass bottles. In the box they actually have plain caps, and there’s an included pump, which I’ve pictured here. I love having the choice between pump and no pump, though I usually pick using a pump.
Hypoallergenic Gentle Cleanser
If you’re unsure which of the cleansers will be your best option, this is the one to pick. A gentle cleanser will always work, no matter what your skin type! This formulation is also free of parabens, sulfates, petroleum, phthalates, fragrance, synthetic dyes and mineral oil. So, if you’re trying to avoid a specific ingredient, chances are this cleanser will work for you.
The cleanser is a bit like a gel in consistency, and I don’t really notice much smell when I use it. It does create a nice lather, easily removes my makeup and rinses off completely. It even removes most eye makeup!
There are extracts from olive fruit and olive leaves in the formulation, which add anti-oxidants to the formulation (here’s a quick refresher on how anti-oxidants work in skin care to prevent aging). Yes, most of that will get rinsed off, but some of it will stick around on your skin. Anti-oxidants can only be helpful here I think.
Hypoallergenic Gentle Cleanser Ingredients
Nutritive Skin Cleanser
Similar to the Hypoallergenic Gentle Cleanser, this cleanser is also very gentle, but removes all makeup without stripping your skin or causing irritation. The formula has added DMAE and Alpha Lipoic Acid to help fight aging, in addition it will help fight redness.
DMAE is a signature ingredient for Perricone MD, it is featured in many of their products. The structure is similar to choline, which then increases acetylcholine production. Acetylcholine is a compound that is used in your central nervous system to send signals. The idea is skin care is that the increased acetylcholine sends signals to the muscles under the skin to increase their tone, contracting and tightening to prevent and reverse sagging in the face, resulting in a firmer, lifted look.
Alpha Lipoic Acid has both anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory actions, preventing damage that causes premature aging. You’ll also see less redness and a glowier complexion as it helps increase blood flow to the skin.
Nutritive Skin Cleanser Ingredients
Perricone MD Citrus Skin Cleanser
If you’re serious about anti-aging, the Citrus Skin Cleanser is the one you should pick! Just like the other cleansers, it is gentle and will remove all of your makeup without stripping your skin. However, is a bit thicker gel, and has some orange flecks in it.
In the formulation, you’ll find the same DMAE that is in the Nutritive Skin Cleanser, as well as a derivative of Vitamin C, a Vitamin C Ester. The Ester will act as an anti-oxidant, preventing free radical damage that contributes to premature aging. In addition, you’ll see increased fibroblast activity in the dermis of the skin, increasing collagen and elastin. This will reduce fine lines and wrinkles as well as help to thicken your skin, which thins out as you age.
Perricone MD Citrus Skin Cleanser Ingredients
Hi Doc,
I bought a variation of this, the Perricone MD Vitamin C Ester Citrus Brightening Cleanser. It has the same ingredients as the Citrus Skin cleanser, though the website says it has squalene, rosemary leaf extract as well as the Vitamin C Ester. Would this be okay for use during pregnancy/nursing?
I can’t verify safety without a complete ingredient list, sorry!
Oh, I’m sorry… here you go! š
