Pregnancy safe skincare can be super difficult and confusing. I have an entire guide devoted to what products are safe to use while pregnant including information on what ingredients to avoid while pregnant and a huge list of pregnancy safe skincare products.
Here you’ll find every pregnancy safe skincare product from DHC as of 12/17/2022. If it is not safe, I’ll tell you why. All of the products meet my pregnancy safe criteria. Note I will link to every product directly to avoid confusion. You’ll know exactly which product I mean.

Hi doctor,
I wished I found your web site earlier in my pregnancy! (I am now 6 months pregnant) and did do my own research but your web site is the most comprehensive site I’ve ever seen on pregnancy-safe products. There is a relatively new line of products from DHC – the Uramai face products made of rice. This Urumai Cream is the one I am interested in and here is its ingredients list. Do you see anything of concern?
water/aqua/eau, glycerin, caprylic/capric triglyceride, ethylhexyl palmitate, diglycerin, propanediol, polyglyceryl-3 methylglucoside distearate, phytosteryl/isostearyl/cetyl/stearyl/behenyl dimer dilinoleate, c10-18 triglycerides, glyceryl stearate, vegetable oil, squalane, macadamia ternifolia seed oil, olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, oryza sativa (rice) germ oil, simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, phytosteryl/behenyl/octyldodecyl lauroyl glutamate, cetearyl alcohol, glyceryl caprylate, sclerotium gum, glycogen, butylene glycol, oryza sativa (rice) callus culture extract, cetearyl glucoside, phytosteryl rice branate, dehydroxanthan gum, tocopherol, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil unsaponifiables, brassica campestris/aleurites fordi oil copolymer, rosa canina fruit oil, sodium citrate, brassica campestris (rapeseed) seed oil, citric acid, hydrolyzed rice protein, arginine, phytic acid, saccharomyces/rice bran ferment filtrate extract, oryza sativa (rice) extract, silver oxide.
Thank you!
It looks pregnancy and nursing safe to me! 🙂

The Dee cleansing oil says it has Licorice root but I’ve been looking at multiple ingredient lists and don’t see it, is it possible they’ve updated the formula ?

Hi Dr. I’ve used this line’s deep cleansing oil about 4-5 times in my 18 weeks of pregnancy. But I won’t anymore because I because I did not know about the licorice root ingredient :/ Is there any cause for concern with this ingredient before switching over to another pregnancy safe cleansing oil mentioned above as safe instead? Or is it ok to just stop all together before moving on with another? Thank you!
I would just stop and switch.
Discussion here: You’ve been using a product with a “bad” ingredient
Hello doctor, I used one pair of the Revitalizing Moisture Strips and for about 15 mins. I am currently 6 weeks pregnant. Is my baby in danger?
Discussion here: You’ve been using a product with a “bad” ingredient
Hi doctor, the Lip cream product listed as Not Safe for Pregnancy because it contains licorice root, but I looked at the ingredient list and didn’t see licorice root. This is full ingredient list, can you see it again for me?
lanolin oil, caprylic/capric triglyceride, euphorbia cerifera (candelilla) wax/candelilla cera/cire de candelilla, beeswax/cera alba/cire d’abeille, lanolin, stearic acid, squalane, paraffin, olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, pentylene glycol, tocopherol, phenoxyethanol, stearyl glycyrrhetinate, panax ginseng root extract, aloe barbadensis leaf extract
The stearyl glycyrrhetinate is the licorice root.
Can you please review Deep Cleansing Oil, i can’t see licorice root in the ingredient list:
olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, caprylic/capric triglyceride, sorbeth-30 tetraoleate, pentylene glycol, phenoxyethanol, tocopherol, stearyl glycyrrhetinate, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf oil.
The stearyl glycyrrhetinate is the licorice root.
Hii doctor,is DHC lip barm good for pregnancy? Please reply me,my lips are so dry and hurts me alot
As mentioned in the post, I need a full ingredient list to review your product as I’ve reviewed all of the ones I have access to. More info here: why I need an ingredient list to comment on product safety. Note, I do not follow links from readers, I need the actual list. Thanks!
Hi. I just started using DHC Tinted Lip Cream in Red and I’m 8 weeks pregnant. Can you help check the ingredients?

Ok for nursing but not pregnancy due to chemical sunscreen
May I know which one is the chemical sunscreen? so that when i buy the next one, i can be aware of that ingredient.. or maybe you can suggest one lip balm that is pregnancy safe. Thanks!
There’s a HUGE number of pregnancy safe lip balms throughout all of these lists. I’d look at Laneige.
Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate is the chemical sunscreen here.
