    Hi Dr!

I was wondering if you could tell me whether a Green Peel (it’s an herbal peel) by Dr Shrammek is safe during pregnancy, particularly the first trimester? I tried to find the ingredient list, but I can’t. However the website says that no chemicals or acids are used, so theoretically we are not using AHAs or BHAs. I also saw that some websites say it’s fine, and others suggest to stay away from it due to inflammation of the skin (more a reaction of the woman’s skin as opposed to harm to the fetus). So I was wondering if you might have a better idea. Here is the link to their website and FAQs on green peels:

I’ve looked it up on Google and this is the ingredient list I could find. I’m not sure it’s exhaustive but these are at least the main ingredients:

The GREEN PEEL® herbal mixture consists of powdered leaves, flowers, sprouts and roots from selected plants. Six plants play a unique role in the herbal mixture. These are Horsetail, Aloe Vera, Ribwort, Lungwort, Pansy and Marigold. Some of the herbs have been used as a medicinal plant since the middle ages.

The website says that they use various herbs, enzymes, algae and minerals.

I can only answer with a full ingredient list. This is only a list of partial ingredients, and the brand won’t release it. I can’t answer safely, sorry.
