Hello! I just wanted to learn more about the Bio Retinol gold face mask. With the word retinol in there, is Biden pilosa a safe type of natural retinol to use during pregnancy?
Below is the full ingredients:

I’m honestly not sure why they named it retinoid as nothing is really retinoid or vitamin A derivative in this. This is Safe for pregnancy and nursing.
Awesome thanks so much!!

Dear Christine,
First, thank you so much for this site! It helped me so much during my first pregnancy, and now with my second 🙂
I see that the «MIRACLE AHA 3 minute mask» is listed as safe for pregnancy. I see now that their Miracle mask with AHA has a different name, « MIRACLE ORGANIC FACE MASK». Is it still safe, and is it not AHA?
The ingredients are:
FULL INGREDIENTS

Thank you very much!
Still safe! The AHAs are in the extracts, which is fine.
Thank you very much, Christine. Really appreciate it!
Hi Christine, thank you so much for your amazing work. I’m in my third trimester and concerned about which skin oils are safe, even after reading your “ingredients to avoid” post. You’ve listed Evolve Super Berry Oil as safe here (as have Evolve), but it contains Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, which I believe is fractionated coconut oil. I’ve seen a couple of studies that have linked it to problems in mice, such as this one: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5273853/. Is Caprylic oil definitely safe? I’ve been using the Evolve oil and plain fractionated coconut oil but am now worried! Should I stick with plain olive oil? Thanks so much in advance.
You can pretty much find info out there about avoiding everything possible, much of which isn’t based on much. It’s not considered an ingredient to avoid by the medical community. My list of ingredients that I screen out is very conservative and it’s here: skincare ingredients to avoid during pregnancy. Mice data isn’t very helpful as a model in this instance and isn’t something that changes how we treat actual patients.
Having said that, coconut can be sensitizing during pregnancy, so olive oil (which is less sensitizing) might be a better idea.
