Unfortunately there are brands out there stating that it “works just like a retinoid” and we have no actual safety data. Just people saying “it works like a retinoid, but is safe”, but no reasoning to back them up and no further explanation of mechanisms. Until more info is out I recommend avoiding it and I’ve been screening Bakuchiol out like a retinoid, which is the #1 ingredient to avoid during pregnancy.

Hello There! First, thank you so much for creating your website and such an excellent source to identify pregnancy-safe skincare. This is my first pregnancy and your site has been so helpful!

The Inkey List has now paired up with Hyram to create “Selfless by Hyram.” Is his new Centella and Green Tea Hydrating Gel Cleanser safe?

Water (Aqua / Eau), Glycerin, Coco-Glucoside, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Xanthan Gum, Triolein, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Benzoate, Sea Water, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Citric Acid, Centella Asiatica Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Hydrolyzed Rhodophyceae Extract, Tocopherol, Ethylhexylglycerin.

    Thanks again!
