Here you’ll find pregnancy safe products from MDSolarSciences as of 3/10/2024. If it is not safe, I’ll tell you why. All of the products meet my pregnancy safe criteria. Note I will link to every product directly to avoid confusion. You’ll know exactly which product I mean.

Yes, I still answer questions about product safety! You must follow these guidelines. Any rude comments or those not following the guidelines will be removed. This means full product name, ingredient list, and each product must either be on the proper brand page or the brand list page. I won't accept comments in the wrong spot.

You can check the pregnancy beauty FAQ for many answers. Also check out which makeup and hair products I think you should worry about. Additional info about: perfume, nail polish and sunless tanners

Thank you for this site. It’s so infuriating when trying to find safe products and lists like this https://www.bestproducts.com/parenting/maternity/g39559789/best-pregnancy-safe-sunscreens/ pop up as “from a dermatologist” and I have to second guess just to come here and you’ve listed them as not safe (AND WHY with the ingredients). Thank you!

Sadly, many dermatologists do NOT get training in pregnancy/nursing safety. As a pediatrician, I did. Most OBs do as well. I’ve seen derms who even say retinoids are safe. There are some that have taught themselves about it, but sadly that isn’t all of them.

You stated the mineral creme spf 50 was not safe during pregnancy but this is a mineral sunscreen, which of the ingredients makes it unsafe?

Every product has the problem ingredient noted. For that product there’s a salicylate in the formulation.
