Pregnancy Safe Products from Olive & June

Pregnancy Safe Products from Olive & June

Pregnancy safe beauty products can be super difficult and confusing. I have an entire guide devoted to what products are safe to use while pregnant including information on what ingredients to avoid while pregnant and a huge list of pregnancy safe skincare products.

Here you’ll find pregnancy safe products from Olive & June as of 9/14/2022. If it is not safe, I’ll tell you why. All of the products meet my pregnancy safe criteria. Note I will link to every product directly to avoid confusion. You’ll know exactly which product I mean.

Don’t See Your Product? Read This Before You Ask About It…

Please read the Pregnancy Beauty Guide intro first, where you will learn which products you actually need to worry about (spoiler alert, you don’t need to worry about all makeup or hair products). I will not review products that fall into the “don’t worry about it” categories. If you want to ask about a specific product, I require that you follow these guidelines for asking about pregnancy/nursing safety. You can also learn more about how to use these pregnancy safety lists. I will delete questions that don’t follow the guidelines or are rude.

Remember, you do not need to worry about polishes, base coats, top coats, etc. That discussion is here: Nail Polish during pregnancy. If you apply it like a polish, you do not need to screen the ingredients.

Yes, I still answer questions about product safety! You must follow these guidelines. Any rude comments or those not following the guidelines will be removed. This means full product name, ingredient list, and each product must either be on the proper brand page or the brand list page. I won't accept comments in the wrong spot.

You can check the pregnancy beauty FAQ for many answers. Also check out which makeup and hair products I think you should worry about. Additional info about: perfume, nail polish and sunless tanners

Note, your comment will enter moderation, and will be published after a response has been written. Please allow 24-48 hours for this to occur. Remember, I am an actual person and not a bot. I need to sleep!

Question regarding press-on nail glue in pregnancy! I know your views on nail care during pregnancy but was specifically curious about press-on nail glue since it’s basically like super glue. I know a lot of pregnant women that use it but I’m worried for myself since a small amount gets on my fingers each time I put them on. Thank you!

Your nails still can’t absorb anything, that won’t change based on what you’re putting on them. I can’t comment on things you’re getting on your skin without an actual ingredient list, but as long as you’re removing it right away and washing it off I think you shouldn’t worry about it. There’s a point where you’ve crossed the line of being too anxious (the hormones of pregnancy set you up for anxiety during pregnancy, it’s not just a postpartum thing), and that honestly might be one of them. If it makes you super worried, I’d talk to your OB. I would just enjoy my pretty nails and not worry about it 🙂

Hi! My toenail fell off, how do you feel about using olive and June non-toxic nail glue on the nail bed?

    Ingredients:
    Alkyl 2cyanoacrylate and Polymethyl Methacrylate

These ingredients are fine, but usually we don’t recommend nail glue on the nail bed. It’s usually best to just leave it alone. Sorry!
