Hi, I bought the Pur on point waterproof liquid eyeliner pen and was wondering if that is safe to use for pregancy and nursing?

Liquid liners form a film on the skin and you don’t need to worry about them. Please refer to the bolded paragraph in the post.

I just discovered that the Pur 4-in-1 Love Your Selfie Foundation has retinol in it and I have been using it for my entire pregnancy so far, 13 weeks. I stopped using, but now I am so scared that I harmed my baby. How concerned should I be?

I know you said mineral powder is generally okay, but what about PUR 4 in 1 pressed mineral makeup? It has broad spectrum spf 15 which is why I ask. Is that a chemical sunscreen? Thank you!!

You don’t need to worry about the ingredients that are “bad” in that kind of formulation as they don’t absorb. I

Even retinol in this foundation? I’ve been tempted to try this brand but retinol seems to be one of the more severe “bad” ingredients… thanks!

For powders, it isn’t about what ingredients are in there, it’s whether the formulation is able to be absorbed. Please refer to this post: Pregnancy Safe Makeup Post.
Retinoids are the biggest ingredient to avoid in pregnancy, but it’s up to you if you feel comfortable or not using it.

Thank you for this. I have really found your site beneficial throughout pregnancy and breastfeeding. I do have a follow up as I am 14 months into breastfeeding and want to start using the 4 in 1 pressed powder again. The retinol complex is an encapsulated formulation within the powder. I have looked at the ingredients and I am not fully sure if that means it tries to absorb. Does that affect the powder makeup isn’t a worry view? I just also say I was using this makeup at the beginning of pregnancy because I didn’t know about the retinol and my little baby is healthy as can be. But it wasn’t until I found this site that I felt a lot better so thank you for that

I’ve been told by derms and cosmetic chemists that things in powder really can’t absorb at all. So I wouldn’t worry about it.
