      Safe for pregnancy and nursing

If you have a scar, the best thing for it (once healed) is actually a silicone scar sheet and lots of sunscreen (at least 1 year avoiding all sun if possible). Keeping it moist helps, but these scar balms don’t help much (I’ve been an inpatient burn doc for years, this is what we recommend)

I noticed the scar balm is safe. But it contains beeswax as well as some other products. What are your thoughts on beeswax I use the scar balm and burrs bees chapstick and recently had a second thought if my baby touched me after using the product then ingested it. I know honey is very dangerous. So if my 3 month old accidentally ingested beeswax from touching my stomach where I used scar balm would it have that same effect and danger as honey?

I think you are dramatically overthinking this. Processed beeswax in products doesn’t contain honey. The honey in skincare products also isn’t a concern for botulism. We worry about babies actually eating the honey themselves.

    Hi,
By mistake I have been using La Roche Posay’s double repair facial moisturizer with SPF for the first 7.5 months of my pregnancy. I hadn’t thought to look until now if the chemical spf can harm the growing fetus. I’m panicking. Any input would be greatly appreciated!
