This list actually has only the safe products at the time of my review, all of the unsafe ones were left off, I haven’t gone back to fill them in. These were both left off the list on purpose, the first due to glycolic acid and the second due to salicylic acid

    Hi Doctor

I would like to know what are your thoughts on getting Botox and Fillers while breastfeeding my little one? I actually spoke to one of my Dermatologist before and he said it’s absolutely fine to receive these injections. But when I researched online on website such as Realself there are some scary stories saying nursing moms shouldn’t have Botox/fillers done at all.

    • 9.9.19
      15mins said:

I would likely avoid botox while nursing as there’s some thought about it circulating. Fillers typically stay put in 1 place. But if you’re worried at all I would just hold off until after nursing.

Kate Somerville Triple Acid Resurfacing Treatment does not contain tartaric acid. I just read the ingredients on Sephora’s website. Is it still unsafe for pregnancy? I know that Glycolic and Malic acids are safe!

    • 3.12.20
      15mins said:

It may have been reformulated slightly, I reviewed the products on the Kate Somerville site first. Malic and Glycolic acids are both on my list of ingredients to avoid, they’re not always accepted as fully safe by the medical community. My list is pretty conservative. Thank you for clarifying! Yikes! I have been using it for about 2 weeks now and I am 5.5 months pregnant.

Is there any exfoliating product from Kate thats pregnancy safe? My skin has a bit of acne and some scars that I would like to exfoliate!

        • 3.14.20

Unfortunately not, I currently recommend pregnancy as a good time to splurge on a Clarisonic, physical exfoliation is ok but pretty much all chemical exfoliation is out.

How about deep tissue cream with peptide k8? Is it safe?
Also I’ve been using dermalquench liquid lift and I’m pregnant ! It doesn’t say retinoids on the bottle !

    • 4.3.20
      15mins said:

There are a bunch of different dermal quenches, they used to have 1 without retinoids (I have it at home too), I just rescreened the full list of products using only what’s available on the Kate Somerville website, I think that one is discontinued now. But all of the ingredient lists I used were on the brand website.
The Deep Tissue Cream is now updated to the Peptide K8™ Power Cream, which has hemp and is in the not safe for pregnancy or nursing category.
