Let the #SephoraHaul Plotting Begin! The Sephora Savings Event is Here!

It’s here already! The Sephora Savings Event is one event that I plan for in advance, which means I’ve been assessing what I have on hand at home and what I need to stock up on. This is the perfect time to buy all of your favorite products, but also try out something new.

There are details you need to know about the Sephora Savings Event, as they’re slightly different depending upon your level of Beauty Insider membership. If you aren’t a member of the Beauty Insider program yet, here’s your obligatory reminder to join! It’s free, you collect points (I recently redeemed mine for a ton of small sample sizes of favorite products for travel), and you can get perks like free shipping and early access to products.

Must know info:

• Code: YAYSAVE
• All Sephora Beauty Insiders: All Sephora Collection 30% off: 4/5-4/15
• Rouge members 20% off: 4/5-4/15
• VIBs 15% off: 4/9-4/15
• Insiders 10% off: 4/9-4/15

Plan your #SephoraHaul:

I do a lot of planning for the first day of The Sephora Savings Event, and I have to admit that I almost always place another order later. The issue is really that I get excited about the newer products and want to try everything out! I’m sharing what is currently in my cart below.

When looking at what I’ll purchase, I separate my purchases into 2 categories:
• My Must Haves: Pretty obvious I think. The items that I rely on all the time, have backups in my drawer, my usual go-to products. I typically buy enough for about 6 months, enough to get me to the next Sephora Savings Event. I literally go through the drawers of my vanity and write a list of what I need.
• My Want to Try/Splurges: New to me products, things I want to try out, or something I only occasionally spend the money on. Want to try that really expensive face cream? This is the best time to try out La Mer. Trust me, you’ll love it.

Skincare

• My Must Haves
Tatcha The Deep Cleanse Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser and Tata Harper Regenerating BHA Exfoliating Cleanser: These are my go-to exfoliating cleansers. I truly love both of them. I tend to use Tatcha when I travel (because it comes in a better travel tube) and I keep the Tata Harper in my shower, because I like the pump. I think the grains in the Tata Harper are slightly bigger, so a little better for use with just my hands (in the shower), and I usually use a washcloth with the Tatcha.
Elemis Dynamic Gentle Resurfacing Enzyme Cleanser: Also found in my shower and also next to the sink, this is my typical gentle face wash.
Lancôme Bi-Facil Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover: It wouldn’t be a #SephoraHaul list without mentioning Lancôme Bi-Facil, forever my ride or die eye makeup remover. I buy even more of it now as my daughters use it to removetheir dance competition makeup.
Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask: This is the ultimate multi-tasker! I use it as a super hydrating moisturizer, as a quick 10 minute hydrating mask, or even on my hands and cuticles. The mini version lives in my TSA 3-1-1 bag, the full sized version is always in my bathroom.
La Mer The Broad Spectrum Face Sunscreen SPF 50: Currently my go-to lightweight daily SPF for under makeup.
La Mer Crème de la Mer Moisturizer: Now that I’m older, my face is drier. And my face is also super expensive and it loves La Mer. I use a small amount nightly and it makes a huge difference in my skin!
La Mer The Eye Concentrate Cream: Super hydrating and lightweight, I use this every morning to help plump up my eye area.

• My Want to Try/Splurges
La Mer The Concentrate Serum: I use this every morning under my makeup. I love that it functions as a serum and a primer in one step. It’s definitely a splurge, but my 1 oz bottle has lasted over 6 months and still has about 25% left.

Lippies

Yes, lip products are now a separate category for me. I think it’s all of those years wearing a mask, I need all of the balms, stains and glosses! I have some recent finds to share, and I’m buying them in more shades.

• My Must Haves
Summer Fridays Dream Lip Oil: It isn’t sticky, has a pleasant taste and offers nice, sheer color. I already own Pink Cloud and Blush Dreams. Rosewood Nights in currently in my cart.
Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm: Another non-sticky gloss, this one is a little thicker than the lip oil and has a little less color. I own Pink Sugar and Birthday Cake. I’ll be buying another Pink Sugar (because my 13 year old keeps trying to steal mine) and if Cherry comes back in stock I’ll pick that up as well.
Dior Addict Lip Glow: This is my go-to lip balm for all occasions. I have it in every purse, on my nightstand, you name it.

• My Want to Try/Splurges
La Mer The Lip Volumizer: This has long been one of my favorite hydrating glosses, and now it is out in different shades. I fully admit I own all of them. Sheer Berry is my favorite, but it’s a very subtle tint.

Makeup

• My Must Haves
Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Eaze Drop Stick Foundation: This is so easy to use! Light to medium coverage in a few swipes, I buff it a little with a brush and it melts flawlessly into my skin. If you haven’t tried it yet, you need to add this to your cart now.
Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder: This is my usual setting powder, I use it on my t-zone with a powder puff.
Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Brightening Powder: A slightly shimmery version of the original, I reach for this one for my under eye area. I also use it if I’m feeling like I need a little something extra.
Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray: I sometimes use a little of this setting spray if I know I’m going to have a particularly long day (like an overnight call, or recently when I was at Disney for spring break and it was hot). I also use this on my daughters as part of their dance competition makeup.
Charlotte Tilbury Magic Vanish Color Corrector: Because I’m nearing my late 40s, I do have darker under eyes and no amount of eye cream is fixing it completely! I use light or medium to help correct the darkness before I use concealer.
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, Dior Backstage Concealer: I like both of these concealers for under my eyes. I get asked frequently about my favorite non-caking concealer, and I think if you use any of these 3 with a light hand (I also like to light blend with this brush) the results will be great!
NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer: This concealer is a bit more pigmented and thicker, I like to use it on areas that coverage is easily removed. For me that tends to be around my nose and on any blemishes. I pat on with a fingertip and use the same concealer brush to blend gently.

• My Want to Try/Splurges
Dior Forever Glow Star Filter Multi-Use Complexion Enhancing Booster: I had this liquid highlighter in my Sephora cart recently but it got bumped out when Dior released the Forever Glow Maximizer below. I still want to try the Forever Glow Star Filter though, so it will be in my order for the Sephora Savings Event.
Dior Forever Glow Maximizer Longwear Liquid Highlighter: I’ve just started using this highlighter, it’s a flattering lightly shimmery liquid that looks nice alone or layered with foundation. I’m going to try mixing it in with a foundation or BB cream next.

Haircare

• My Must Haves
Kérastase Première Repairing Pre-Shampoo Treatment, Shampoo, Conditioner: I started using Kérastase’s latest system for damaged hair about 6 weeks ago, and I am definitely a fan. You do need all 3 products as they are designed to work together. I’ll be stocking up.
Kérastase Première Repairing Anti-Frizz Serum: I use the corresponding serum on my hair before blow drying.
Kérastase Elixir Ultime Hydrating Hair Oil Serum: This is one of Kérastase’s top sellers for a reason. It’s highly versatile, I can use it on my hair wet, damp or dry. It is pretty hard to overdo it, and a little on my hair does a lot to fight frizz, make my hair smoother and add shine. I bring it with me when I travel and it’s a fixture in my daily hair routine.
Oribe Superfine Hair Spray: My go-to hair spray for long lasting curls.
COLOR WOW Extra Strength Dream Coat: I love that this treatment lasts 3 shampoos, which for me is about 10-12 days. I used it recently before a trip to Florida, and my typically frizzy hair did great in the Florida humidity! I’ll be using this all summer long.
Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo: My scalp is happiest when I’m only washing every 3-4 days, and my secret for going that long between washing is this dry shampoo. I use a little on my hair at night on wash day

• My Want to Try/Splurges
Dyson Airstrait™ Straightener: This flat iron and blow dryer hybrid has been the topic of conversation amongst my friends recently. You can read my initial review here in last spring’s Update with Sephora post. I’m still using it quite a bit, and I love bringing it with me when I travel because it is so versatile. If you’ve been thinking about splurging on it, this is the perfect time to go for it.

Body Care

• My Must Haves
Fenty Skin Butta Drop Body Cream: This is one of my favorite body creams, it feels super hydrating, isn’t sticky, and leaves a very pretty sheen to my skin. I love that it also comes in a travel size, so I can easily bring it with me on vacation.

• My Want to Try/Splurges

TAN-LUXE THE BUTTER Illuminating Tanning Butter and The Crème Gradual Self-Tanning Face Moisturizer: I’m not usually a self tanner girl. My skin is pretty pale, and if I’m not careful I turn orange easily. I bought both of these about a month ago, and used them twice before heading to Disney for Spring Break. The color was noticeable after one use, and not at all orange. I used a 2nd layer just to get slightly darker. I do think I’ve had more color with a traditional self tanner, but this one was super easy to use, didn’t have the classic smell of a self tanner, and it was nice to not be orange! It was also nice to not be glow in the dark pale when I was wearing shorts for the first time in over 6 months.
