Winter Makeup Refresh: Ready for Warm and Sunny!

Am I the only one that reaches for new beauty products to help me through a bit of the mid-winter slump? Lately there have been some amazing warm-peachy palettes released, and I finally ordered a Tom Ford palette that I couldn’t resist!

All of these products are available at Sephora, and I was able to use some of my Beauty Insider Program points for money off of my order! I love that with the program I have savings events, there are point multiplier events, and I can use my points for things like deluxe samples of products or to save money (like I did with this order). You can even get free shipping on all orders with FREESHIP!

Here’s a look at what I ordered to help me out of my wid-winter beauty slump!

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate Moisturizing Face Oil
This is one of my tried and true favorites. I recently ran out of this oil and needed a restock! I love to use this all over in the winter, it adds some much needed moisture to my skin without feeling too heavy. I like to add a few drops into my nightly skincare routine if I feel dry, it’s perfect for over a serum but under a moisturizer. I also apply to my cuticles and the backs of my hands when they get particularly dry.

Gucci Sérum De Beauté Fluide Matifiant – Mattifying Face Primer
I’ve been on a continual hunt for a new mattifying face primer for well over a year, and this splurge item might just be my winner! You only need about 1/3 of a pump for your entire face, I spread it all over once my morning moisturizer has had a chance to sink into my skin. It really smooths over any imperfections in my skin and keeps me looking less shiny all day. I think the overall finish is more of a semi-matte/satin, which is exactly what I’ve been looking for. I know I’ll be using this daily!

Yves Saint Laurent Lash Clash Extreme Volume Mascara
The new YSL mascara promises volume and all day wear, and I think it really delivers. I added only 1 light layer onto bare lashes below, and you can see that I did get quite a bit of volume already.

This is the new Tom Ford Bitter Peach Eye Colour Eyeshadow Palette, which has the perfect peachy-warm shades that I’ve been  yearning for! I just used the upper right shade as a light wash in these pictures, but I can’t wait to start creating more complex eye looks with these shades in this quad.

While they’re a splurge, I love Tom Ford’s shadows. They aren’t powdery, blend well and last all day.

KVD Beauty Good Apple Lightweight Full-Coverage Concealer
Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez Liquid Touch Concealer Brush
I’m a sucker for a new concealer, and this new one from KVD is amazing. It’s a must have. It’s a lightweight liquid, almost like a serum. It comes with a flat oval shaped applicator that’s perfect for just tapping on to your skin where you need it, and then blending with a brush (this one from Rare Beauty is absolutely perfect for under the eyes). It has full coverage, lasts all day and will not settle into fine lines. If you are anything over 30 years old (and I’m pretty well north of 40 now), this is one you need to try for yourself.

NARS Air Matte Sheer Cream Blush in Orgasm
I can’t even tell you how many powder Orgasm blushes I’ve been through over the years. Over and over again I come back to this universally flattering shade. But I wanted an update to a cream, and NARS didn’t disappoint. I apply with my usual blush brush, and the shade is just as flattering but the swap from powder to cream means I’m somehow more glowy. Love.

Here you can see the mascara, blush, concealer and eyeshadow at work! I’m actually home during a snowstorm (hence, no brows filled in today), but this was the perfect warm and sunny casual look.

How have you updated your look for winter?
